Day 56: Titian and His Contribution to Renaissance Art (5/25/11)

Standard: Detail advances made in literature, the arts, science, mathematics, cartography, engineering, and the understanding of human anatomy and astronomy.

Aim: The historians of 2016 will be able to summarize the impact of Nicolaus Copernicus and compare his impact to that of a modern day figure.

Task 1: Submit your homework.

Task 2 Quick Question: Now that you know what life was like as an artist during the Renaissance. Would you persue (choose/go after) a career that you were passionate about even if it meant a life of poverty?

Task 3: Track the YouTube video that covers the short biography of Titian's life. If you would like to learn more about Titian, I recommend the following videos: video 1, video 2, video 3. This is also a great website that provides more insight into the great artist's life.

Task 4: Open your notes on the Renaissance and help Mr. Sanders construct detailed notes covering the important elements of the Renaissance in Europe and the important historical figures.

Task 5: Track the your classmates' Renaissance project presentations. After each teammate finishes their presentation, go to their website and complete their quiz.

Homework: Read bout the Polish Scientist Nicolaus Copernicus and complete the workbook page.
