Day 22: Creating your first presentation! (9/15/2011)

Standard 7.1.2: Discuss the geographic borders of the empire at its height and the factors that threatened its territorial cohesion.

Key Points:
1. The Roman Empire lasted for hundreds of years.
2. The Roman Empire started in Rome and grew into a large empire.
3. The Roman Empire collapsed for more than one reason.

AIM: The junior historians of 2017 will be to synthesize information from a text and create a presentation incorporating the information they extracted about different aspects of the Roman Empire.

Technology Learning Goal: The historians of 2017 create a Google Presentation that includes pictures, text, and video.

Task 3: Track Mr. Sanders as he goes over the lesson for the day. If there is enough time we will watch CNN Student News today (no promises).

Task 4: Use these new websites to dig a little deeper into your investigation topics. Find five new pieces of information or facts about your topic.

Task 5: Create a new presentation in your Google Docs. Title the presentation the topic your chose to investigate. For example, if you chose to investigate Roman Government, title your presentation "Roman Government (first name)". Mr. Sanders will show you how to start creating your presentation.

If you're done early: A look back. We're going to use this time to review the difference between architecture and engineering. Use each word in a sentence, demonstrating that you understand the difference between the two.

Homework: Complete a new current event. You must include a copy of the article! It can be cut out of an old newspaper (with your family's permission), or printed off the computer.
