History Summer Lesson #5: Renaissance Artists

As some of you noticed, we didn't have a lesson on Tuesday because I was in San Diego presenting at a conference. Here is a picture of my presentation showing teachers how to use YouTube in the classroom.

Introduction: Today you are going to learn about Michelangelo and investigate an artist from the Italian Renaissance.

Step 1: Watch this 10 minute documentary and read this article on the famous artist Michelangelo.  Afterwards, complete a reflection on the artist here.

Step 2:  Investigate another Italian Renaissance artist and create a two paragraph portfolio post where you describe the artists work, why he or she was important, and your opinion of his or her art. Posts that do not include your opinion will not be considered for credit.

You have to figure out who the artists were on your own.
