Day 6: Welcome to Chromebooks! (8/22/2011)

Key Points:
1. Technology is a tool, not a toy.
2. We use technology tools to help us study the past.
3. Technology can help us think critically and be creative.

Objective: The historians of 2017 will be able to set up a their e-mail account and add all their teachers' e-mail addresses to their contacts.

Step 1: Follow along with Mr. Sanders as he shows you the different parts to your Gmail account.


Step 2: Add the following bookmarks to your computer:
Step 3: Add all your teachers to your contacts. Follow along as Mr. Sanders demonstrates how.

Step 4: Send Mr. Sanders an e-mail. You e-mail must be written in complete sentences and say:

"Hey Mr. Sanders! My name is ________ and I am sending you an e-mail. My favorite food to eat is _________. Have a good day! (your name)."

Step 5: Discussion Question: Do you think computers will help you learn about history? Why or why not?

Homework: Complete the pre-technology survey.
