Standard 7.1.2: Discuss the geographic borders of the empire at its height and the factors that threat­ened its territorial cohesion.

Key Points:

1. The Roman Empire lasted for hundreds of years.

2. The Roman Empire started in Rome and grew into a large empire.

3. The Roman Empire collapsed for more than one reason.

AIM: The junior historians of 2017 will be to compare and contrast the collapse of the Roman Empire with the current problems in the United States.

Technology Learning Goal: The historians of 2016 will be able to use Google Draw to create double-bubble mind maps.

Task 1: Submit your homework here.

Task 2 Quick Question: What are some of the problems currently facing our country? Will we ever be able to solve these problems?

Task 3: Open your Notes on the Roman empire and track Mr. Sanders during his presentation on the geography of the Roman Empire.

Task 4: Make a copy of this double bubble mind map. Use your knowledge of the problems currently facing our country from the quick question and what you already know about problems within the Roman Empire to complete the double bubble mind map.

Task 5: Track Mr. Sanders as he demonstrates how to add your portfolio post to your history portfolio. Post your double bubble mind map to your history portfolio. Add a description that describes the double bubble mind map for your visitors.

Your history portfolio should have the following items:

1. A background of a college
2. Your post on Roman contributions in San Francisco
3. Roman Empire, United States double bubble mind map with a description.
