Day 21: Independent Investigation (9/14/2011)

Standard 7.1.2: Discuss the geographic borders of the empire at its height and the factors that threat­ened its territorial cohesion.

Key Points:
1. The Roman Empire lasted for hundreds of years.
2. The Roman Empire started in Rome and grew into a large empire.
3. The Roman Empire collapsed for more than one reason.

AIM: The junior historians of 2017 will be to read a text about the Roman Empire and pull out five or more key pieces of information.

Technology Learning Goal: The historians of 2017 will be able to embed Google Draw documents in a blogger post.

Task 3: Open your Double Bubble Map form yesterday. Track Mr. Sanders as he demonstrates how to add your portfolio post to your history portfolio. Post your double bubble mind map to your history portfolio. Add a description that describes the double bubble mind map for your visitors.

Task 4: Choose one of the topics that you're interesting in learning a little more about:

Task 5: Create a new Google document and title it: "Roman Empire Independent Investigation (first name)". Create a list of important information and/or facts from the text that you read. You should have at least 5 have at least five facts or pieces of information, written in your own words.

Task 6: A look back. We're going to use this time to review the difference between architecture and engineering. Use each word in a sentence, demonstrating that you understand the difference between the two.
