First off, I wouldn't tell a potential immigrant about things. I'd tell them about important characteristics and attributes of the US instead. For example, I'd make sure they know we have huge inequities in how we run our social services like health care and education. It would be essential for them to know about our huge partisan issues in our political structure, causing gridlock and nasty political in-fighting. A potential immigrant would need to know we are also a society of critical thinkers who aren't a linear, rote people when we get our higher education. Our most educated think flexibly, therefore you find a great deal of the world's innovation coming from US research institutions. However, these schools are often populated by a lot of creative thinking immigrants-- not just Americans. Our college going rates are fairly stagnant, besides the students we import from Europe, African, Asia, and Central and South America.
