Day 9: Longitude and Latitude (8/25/11)

Key Points:

1. Longitude and Latitude help determine geographic location.

2. We need a uniform system to describe where places are in the world.

3. Each location in the world can be described using longitude and latitude lines.

Objective: The junior historians of 2017 will be able to locate historical locations using lines of longitude and latitude.

Step 1: Submit your homework. If you already completed your homework online, you do not have to submit it again.

Step 2 Quick Question: Besides maps, how do people understand where to go or how to find different locations?

Step 3: Track the video clip from Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego.

Step 4: Track Mr. Sanders as he explains how to play the Longitude and Latitude game.

After learning how to play, start playing :).

Step 5: Participate in the Summarizer activity where we play pin the Power Ranger on the Villan. This is an activity that we are going to complete together.
